nounalso SI workspaceplural: superintelligence workspaces

The place a team keeps its goals, plans and knowledge so that AI agents, however capable they get, can read them, do the work, and report back for a human sign-off.

→Short answer

The closest thing to a superintelligence workspace in 2026 is the strongest model of the day running as an agent on your team's own goals and knowledge, with a person signing off. Claude Team and ChatGPT Business bring the agents. Notion and ClickUp hold the context. EVY joins the two on a Mac, free, on the Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for. See the scorecard.

§1Why a new word

Models improve every few months. Workspaces barely move.

Claude, GPT and Gemini get noticeably better several times a year. The apps teams plan and work in change once every few years, and most of them added AI as a writing helper in the corner of a document.

A model that can do a week of work in an hour needs to know what the week is for. Which goals matter this quarter. What was already decided. Who says yes before anything goes out.

That is the job of a superintelligence workspace. It is built around the agent: the team's plan and knowledge go in, finished work comes out, and a person approves it.

The smarter the model, the more the workspace decides what you get out of it.

§2The five traits

Five traits, each with a test you can run today.

  1. Any model, swappable

Could you move to next month's best model by Friday?

The lead between Claude, GPT and Gemini changes hands every few months. The workspace should run on whichever is best, ideally on the AI plan your team already pays for, so switching to a better model takes minutes.

  2. Agents that finish work

Does the AI hand back finished work you can ship?

Multi-step jobs done on a computer or across apps: the research, the files, the code, the follow-up email. Chat and writing help are table stakes in 2026.

  3. Context the AI can read

Can the agent see this quarter's goals without you pasting them in?

Goals, plans, decisions and company knowledge in one place an agent can read on its own. As models get smarter, missing context becomes the main reason their work misses.

  4. A human sign-off

Do you see what an agent will do before it does it?

Agents propose, people approve, and every action leaves a record. The more an agent can do, the more this matters, for trust inside the team and for the EU AI Act's human-oversight rules.

  5. Knowledge you can take with you

Could you export everything to plain files today?

Your team's history is the context future models will work from. Keep it in open formats, so the next, better tool can pick it up on day one.

EVYRuns Claude Code or Codex on your own plan, with goals and knowledge kept as plain files. Mac only, and the youngest tool here. $0 10/10
Claude TeamThe strongest agents we've tested, with Claude Code and Cowork on every seat. Claude models only, and no shared plan or task list. $200 7/10
ChatGPT BusinessChatGPT Work and Codex finish real jobs and ask before consequential steps. OpenAI models only; planning lives elsewhere. $200 7/10
Microsoft 365 CopilotThe strongest admin controls and audit trail, and the only small-team plan with EU data by default. Agents stay inside Office. $320 7/10
Notion BusinessThe best home for team knowledge. Notion picks and bills the models, and its agents work inside Notion. $200 6/10
ClickUp with Brain AITasks, docs and goals in one app, with Claude, GPT and Gemini inside. Agents run on ClickUp's credits. $160 6/10
Google Workspace with GeminiGemini in every Business plan at no extra seat cost. Gemini only, and agents that work across apps are still thin. $140 5/10
TaskadeAI agents and automations for one flat team price. Everything runs on Taskade's credits. $25 3/10

We make EVY, and we designed it around these five traits, so it was always going to score well here. On agents alone, Claude Team and ChatGPT Business are the reference, and EVY's agents are in fact Claude Code and Codex. Every other tool on this list has a longer track record.

§5Questions

Common questions.

What is a superintelligence workspace?

A superintelligence workspace (SI workspace) is the place a team keeps its goals, plans and knowledge so that AI agents, however capable they get, can read them, do the work and report back for a human sign-off. It has five traits: any model, swappable; agents that finish work; context the AI can read; a human sign-off; and knowledge you can take with you.

What does SI stand for?

SI is short for superintelligence: AI that does most knowledge work better than the best people in the field. An SI workspace is the tool a team uses to put AI at that level to work on its own goals.

What is the best superintelligence workspace for a small team?

It depends on where the team's work lives. Claude Team and ChatGPT Business bring the strongest agents at $20 a seat. Notion and ClickUp hold team knowledge best. EVY scores highest on all five traits: it runs Claude Code or Codex on the AI plan a team already pays for, with goals and knowledge kept as plain files, for free on Mac. We make EVY.

What is the difference between an AI workspace and an SI workspace?

An AI workspace adds AI to the tools a team already uses, such as writing help in documents and summaries in chat. An SI workspace starts from the agent and gives it what it needs to work on its own: the team's goals, its knowledge, and a clear way to get a person's approval.

Does superintelligence exist yet?

Not yet, by most definitions. Today's frontier models beat experts on many narrow tests and still need a person to set direction and check the work. Several AI labs say publicly that they are building toward it. A workspace with these five traits gets more useful with every model release, which is the reason to choose one now.

Why does being able to swap models matter?

The lead between Claude, GPT and Gemini has changed hands every few months since 2023. A team locked to one vendor's model waits for that vendor to catch up. A team on a model-agnostic workspace switches on the day a better model ships.

§6Method

How we score.

Scale
Each trait scores 0 (missing), 1 (partial) or 2 (full), for a total out of 10. A dotted square means the vendor doesn't document it, and it counts as 0.
Evidence
Each vendor's own pricing and product pages, plus hands-on use of the agents. Prices are list prices for 10 people a month on yearly billing, before tax and usage credits, checked on 12 October 2026.

Updates
We rescore when a vendor ships a change that moves a trait. The date at the top moves with every update.
